- Dubbed the “Tri State Tornado” this wind pattern killed over 747 people and is the deadliest tornado in US history.
- 1927 Missouri, USA
- An F4 tornado casues 217 deaths.
- 1936 Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, USA
- Twin F4 tornados ripped through this region and killed 455 people, injured approximately 2300 and leveled nearly 200 houses.
- 1947 Texas, USA
- A family of tornados ripped through the upper portion of the state with an F5 tornado completely razing the town of Glazier to such a degree that it was never rebuilt. Nearly 1000 were injured.
- 1953 Texas, USA
- This F5 tornado struck the city of Waco causing over $41 million in damages.
- 1965 Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, and Ohio, USA
- A cluster of 48 tornados flew through the region, killing 271 people and causing over $200 million in damages.
- 1974 South / Midwest USA
- 148 tornados struck this region of the US in only 2 days causing $600 million in damages.
- 1979 Kansas, USA
- USA- As one of the most destructive in history, this tornado destroyed over 3000 homes and left 20,000 homeless.
- 1999 Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, USA
- A group of 70 large F3 and F4 tornados swept through the region caused $1.2 billion in damages.
